Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Mark 10:21
Help poor farmers plant their lands with olive trees
Olive trees were planted in the Galilee thousands of years ago, and throughout the centuries, Galilean famers have made their living from olive cultivation and olive oil production.
Less than 10% of all the lands today in the Galilee are planted with olive trees. Eventhough many families are taking care of their olive groves, others are struggling to keep their small land alive, or do not have the means to expand or start their own olive grove.
For this reason, Jabalna is managing the "Olive Trees of the Galilee" project. Our aim is to help hundreds of poor farmers, in many different Galilean villages, by providing them with small olive plants (about 3 years old), which they can plant in their empty lands or to expand an existing small grove of olive trees.

A lifetime help
This opportunity to help them is vital for all. Olive trees and their harvest are important to their families' economy, and it is not an axeggeration to say that for some, this is the only source of income, since these famers are becoming older, and having no other jobs, the olive tree has become their life.
The idea is simple: for only 7 USD/5 Euros you can pay for an olive tree to be planted in the Galilee in your or loved one's name. This amount will cover 80% of the expenses for each tree, and thus the farmer will need to pay the small portion of 20% of the total cost. This way, your help will encourage these peasants to improve their olive groves without costing them an arm and a leg.
If you help the Galilean farmers, we will send you a beautiful "Thank You" certificate!
Together we can make a real difference to the lives of thousands of Galilean families.

Your donation will support them
With your generous support, these farmers will have their lives changed:
- Their neglected lands will become useful again. The spirit of Life will visit these groves.
- A new source of income, like the life of an ordinary olive tree, will last for thousands of years!
- The olive tree is a major part of their ethnic and cultural identity, and with these new trees planted, a new pride in their effort is the result.
- The younger generation will have a project for the long run to take care of. Many generations of these young families will benefit from harvesting their groves.
- The women will have their say too: this project will impower poor women in the Galilee by making them contributors to the domestic ecenomy. Women here are waiting for such opportunity to work, especially with the bad economic situation in the villages.
- And please remember this fact: Each mature olive tree can produce a worth of $50 each year of olive oil. A contribution of 10 trees will give back $500 a year in the future, for thousands of years to come.
- This might be really the best donation you can ever give!
